Black Friday Deals
1. 20% off beehiiv
This is probably the only sale you’ll see from beehiiv all year. If you’re serious about running a newsletter, I think it should be on beehiiv. beehiiv’s the only ESP that pays for itself—and I trust beehiiv enough to build a second newsletter on it.
Another perk for you: if you redeem this deal and use my Black Friday affiliate code, I’ll set up a one-on-one consultation with you that we can do over email, phone, or video call. I’ll honor that deal all year long—but you can only save 20% between Nov. 27 and Dec. 2.
2. WordPress
WordPress powers my website, and every single year without fail I use its chat to see if there’s any kind of deal they can give me for being a long-term user. WordPress always runs a Black Friday sale on Black Friday itself.
3. Namecheap
I always recommend owning the domain of your own name, and you might want to start a new website or two in the future. Namecheap makes it easy to buy and maintain domains. Right now you can get a .com domain for 57% off.
4. 2025 Podcast Planner
I’m not a podcaster, but if you want to become one I’d recommend having a podcast planner like this. This is typically $37, but now it’s $17.
5. Grants for Creators
This is a great monthly newsletter that rounds up grants and funding opportunities. Save 20% now on a subscription.
6. Freelance Opportunities!
No Black Friday sale here! That’s because I try to keep the newsletter affordable all year long. That said, now is the perfect time to lock in an annual plan so you can get access to our private LinkedIn group where I share opportunities before they’re seen here, the Places to Find Freelance Work database, and other digital products and exclusive editions. Without paid members, there’s no newsletter.
7. HyperX Wrist Rest
I know what you’re thinking: “Kaitlyn, I don’t need a wrist rest!” Yes, you do. I’ve used the HyperX Wrist Rest for the past four years and it’s helped eliminate wrist pain. It’s also held up while I traveled around the US, so it’ll work for you.
8. iWalk Portable Charger
I use this constantly and it is so helpful for road trips. iWalk Portable Chargers are 20% off right now and worth investing in.

This newsletter doesn’t work without reader support. I am doing my damndest to keep Freelance Opportunities! affordable and accessible so that anyone can access it. I think that’s a worthwhile mission. If you agree, become a member.
Slashing Prices Isn’t Sustainable for the Small Guys
I look forward to a good Black Friday sale every year! But frankly, there’s a lot of small businesses like mine that can’t afford to slash their prices. If you can afford to pay for their services, make it a priority. If you can’t, here’s what I recommend:
1. Give them a good testimonial
A testimonial shows small creators the impact they have—and gives them proof to show brands they’re worth collaborating with. Please share how this newsletter has helped you!
2. Plan on paying later
If you can’t afford a service or newsletter right now, make room in your budget in 2025. It’s always worth investing in local businesses and independent creators—and it feels better than spending your money at box stores that don’t care about you.
3. Engage with their sponsored posts
It’s always cute to see people commenting “get that bag!” on TikTok, but that’s not helpful for the brand partnership. Leave a comment about the product or service itself and meaningfully engage.

Negotiate Black Friday Deals
Everything is negotiable. Negotiating with big companies to get better prices helps your wallet now and your communications with clients later. You’ll only get more confident with each negotiation. Try these moves:
I saw that [another company] is offering. Show them that you know your worth and that you’re willing to go to another company with a better deal.
I’ve been a customer for [time] and I saw that you’re offering a deal for new customers. What can you do for me? I do this all the time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. This is how I’ve gotten better deals at WordPress.
Can I get a discount? I like to see if this gets me anywhere. Sometimes it doesn’t, but a customer service rep will give me the best advice they can.
