Grants for Creators
Danielle Desir Corbett does amazing work rounding up new grants! Grants for Creators shares monthly funding opportunities for writers, podcasters, artists, filmmakers, and small businesses. The newsletter also has specific playlists for specific types of creators and people with different backgrounds and ethnicities.
Poets & Writers
Poets & Writers focuses exclusively on writing contests, grants, and awards in the U.S. The Poets & Writers Writing Contests, Grants & Awards database clearly lists application deadlines, entry fees, and offers a submission calendar.
Hello Alice
Hello Alice has a ton of grants for any kind of small business. I haven’t found it as helpful for freelancing, but it’s still a place I like to check.
Wildfire Media
Wildfire Media’s Spark training program has been sending out monthly funding alerts on its blog. It’s a resource I like to check and I often see grants that I haven’t seen elsewhere.
Small Business Development Centers
Check out the local SBDC in your area to find grants and funding that’s available in your city and state.
Fundid
Fundid has a lot of helpful information for applying to grants. Sign up for the newsletter to get new grants right in your inbox!

One quick tip that you can implement today
In addition to these fantastic resources, there’s a lot of organizations that offer grants annually. Women Photograph and the International Women’s Media Foundation offer grants. Make an Airtable to organize and track your grant applying efforts (I recommend using something like my pitch tracker).
Applying to grants is a lot like pitching. You never know if your efforts will pay off, but it’s worth trying anyway.
